- Yamaha MU80 Performance Editor
- --------------------------------------------
-
- * The Performance Editor is used
- to edit a Performance while the
- MU80 is in PFM mode
-
- * Data is always loaded from the instrument's
- INTERNAL memory, NOT from the CURRENT
- memory (Performance edit buffer)
-
- * Parameter changes update a copy of the
- selected performance in the edit buffer.
- To save your edits into internal memory
- use " Send data to instrument ". Remember
- that this will store data permanently at a
- location decided by the Pch# currently
- selected by the MU80 Performance driver.
- You may change this by calling up the
- "Update Settings" window before saving
-
- * Part Voices in other banks than Bank 0
- will have their names displayed only
- when they differ from standard voices.
- Should the display be blank make the
- Bank number "0" to check which voice
- is currently assigned to the selected part
-
- * When right clicking on a part's name and
- selecting a voice from the popup window
- it may take initially as long as 20 seconds
- to look up the 5760 entries and update
- the related parameters. Once this list is
- read subsequent changes should not take
- more than a couple of seconds
-
- * To send all data to the edit buffer, select
- a performance number then click on
- the "Transmit" button
-
- * Use the COPY section to quickly clone
- Part parameters. Choose source and
- destination parts then hit COPY. This will
- update both the data file and the corresponding
- part in the MU80 Current Memory.
- Click the COPY button again to update
- the editor's display
-
- * Click on the Part number to solo each part
- Click on it again to hear all 4 parts
-
- * The Performance has four different
- parts. The four columns are used to
- assign the major parameters of
- each part
-
- * The right portion of the editor
- shows the remaining parameters
- for one of the four parts. Use the
- "Edit Part" parameter to select
- which part to edit.
-
- * These parameter provide additional
- control over the sound of each of the
- four parts.
-
- * Dry Level and Variation Send, together
- with Variation Pan and Return, are only
- available when the Variation connection
- is set to "SYSTEM" in the FX section below
- the basic Part parameters
-
- * For both Chorus and Variation the following
- XG effects will be ignored by the MU80 :
- Chorus 4, Celeste 4 and Flanger 3.
- Choosing Chorus 4 & Celeste 4 will select
- Chorus 3 & Celeste 3 respectively while
- choosing Flanger 3 will select Flanger 1
-
- * Note that the MU50 and MU80 use the
- same editor. Changing the EQ settings
- or Insertion effect settings will have
- no effect on the MU50.
